I used my Cuisinart Griddler to make some breakfast…recipe is found in the manual that came with it.

The inserts can be changed to use both as grills or both as griddles…for this recipe I used one of each.
While the Griddler is closed, choose “griddle” and preheat to 350 degrees.
Then add bacon, ham, or sausage. I chose bacon!

Cook for about 7 to 8 minutes before turning. Cook time may depend on how thick the bacon is, though!
While the bacon (or ham or sausage) is cooking, take 2 slices of bread and brush both sides of each slice with unsalted, melted butter. I used sourdough bread.
The recipe says to use a 3-inch round or square cookie cutter to cut a center out of each slice of bread. Well, I don’t have either of those, so I just used a knife 🙂
After the meat has cooked for the 7 to 8 minutes, turn.
Then arrange the bread (including the cut out part) on the griddle side. Let that cook for 4 to 5 minutes and then turn.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of unsalted butter to the griddle plate in the open center of the bread.
Break an egg into the center of each slice of bread. Cook until the whites are firm (about 4 – 5 minutes). If you want, you can carefully turn the bread with egg over.
Season to your liking…salt, pepper…get some jam…whatever you like.
It was a good breakfast on this rainy day.
This guy agreed as he waited to see if there was anything left over 😉
