So, this year I have decided to plant tomatoes, ground cherries, and Chinese lanterns (these are for decoration around my deck) from seed. I think I’ll try zucchini and yellow squash – but I’ll buy them from Home Depot already started 🙂
I got three types of tomatoes to grow – Better Boy Hybrid (bought the seed pack at Home Depot), Rutgers (also bought at Home Depot), and Sioux (purchased online from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds). The Sioux tomatoes did so well last year, that I decided to get them again. I also bought the ground cherries and Chinese lanterns from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.
The tomatoes have sprouted well and came up pretty quickly!
And today, I saw a sprout from the ground cherries! Keep growing, guys!
And, third from the left, you can just make out a little sprout from the Chinese lantern seed. Come on, grow!
I am using the pods you can get at Wal-Mart or Home Depot (or probably tons of other places) to start the seeds. They’re really easy to work with.
What are you planting in your garden this year?
